Welcome to the Hispanic Center of Excellence Website!
The goal of the UPR School of Dentistry Hispanic Center
of Excellence Focused on Health Disparities is to improve Hispanic
students’ performance and train Hispanic faculty in innovative instructional
methodologies and research methods. It will be accomplished through
activities that promote critical thinking, individualized learning and
cultural competence. It also aims to improve the competitive applicant pool
with a special emphasis on students from disadvantaged backgrounds and from
health professional shortage areas.
